About the Somali e-Visa

The Federal Republic of Somalia offers an electronic visa (e-Visa) system that allows foreign nationals to apply for a Somali visa online before travelling. The e-Visa simplifies the application process and reduces the need to visit an embassy in person.

Foreign nationals wishing to visit Somalia for tourism, business, or official purposes can apply through the official Somali e-Visa portal at evisa.mfa.gov.so.

Who Needs a Visa?

Most foreign nationals require a visa to enter Somalia. Citizens of certain countries may be eligible for visa-on-arrival or visa exemptions. Please check the official MFA Somalia website for the most up-to-date visa requirements for your nationality.

How to Apply

Step 1: Visit the Portal

Go to evisa.mfa.gov.so and create an account or log in to begin your application.

Step 2: Complete the Form

Fill in your personal details, travel information, and purpose of visit. Upload a passport photo and a copy of your valid passport.

Step 3: Pay the Fee

Pay the applicable visa fee online using a credit or debit card. Fees vary by visa type and nationality.

Step 4: Receive Your e-Visa

Once approved, your e-Visa will be sent to your email. Print it out and carry it with you when travelling to Somalia.

Required Documents

  • Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity from date of entry)
  • Passport-size photograph (white background)
  • Travel itinerary / flight booking confirmation
  • Hotel reservation or letter of invitation
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the duration of your stay
