Permanent Mission to the UN Geneva

The Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva represents Somalia's interests across a wide range of multilateral bodies, including the Human Rights Council, the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Somalia actively participates in UN human rights mechanisms, engaging with Universal Periodic Review (UPR) processes and treaty body reporting to demonstrate the country's commitment to international human rights standards.

Areas of Cooperation

Human Rights Council

Somalia engages actively with the Human Rights Council, participating in Universal Periodic Reviews and supporting resolutions that advance human rights globally.

World Health Organization

Collaboration on public health priorities including disease prevention, maternal health, and the strengthening of Somalia's health systems.

International Labour Organization

Partnership on labour rights, decent work agenda, and employment generation programmes in support of Somalia's economic recovery.

UNHCR

Working with UNHCR on refugee and displacement issues affecting Somali nationals, including voluntary repatriation and durable solutions.

Somalia at the UN Human Rights Council

Somalia has been an active participant in the UN Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva, engaging on issues of national importance including the rights of displaced persons, access to education and healthcare, and the rule of law. Somalia's delegation works to build international support for the country's peace and state-building efforts.
